The Harraseeket Foundation supports programs that make it easier for Northern Virginia faith and secular communities to help young people imagine their future, and act on what they imagine. These programs reach youth and young adults inside and outside their communities, particularly underserved high school students, with mentoring and at-work experiences.
We help young people in Northern Virginia imagine their future, and act on what they imagine. Our “Pathways programs” help faith and secular communities (“Pathways communities”) to support young people - both members and non-members.
A lead Pathways program offers internships and internship coaches (mentors) to underserved high school students, showing a world of possibilities to those blinded by inequitable situations. We free the students to see the world of possibilities. You can't climb the mountain you don't see.
Harraseeket brings schools, employers, and community organizations together to collectively address root causes of inequities faced by underserved students. Students benefit from greater access to skills-based training and living-wage jobs. Employers benefit from a pipeline of more qualified employees. Communities, schools and employers benefit from deeper connections with each other to address regional problems.
