Volkswagen Group of America

Proudly headquartered in Herndon, Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) houses the U.S. operations of a family of global brands including VW, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, VW Credit, and Electrify America.  In 2019, VWGoA launched a new commitment they call “Drive Bigger,” which drives the company to focus on corporate responsibility, innovation, and how a major automaker can actually contribute to the greater good. Their goal is to become a benchmark of environmental responsibility for the automotive industry and to become an automaker that inspires people; not just through their vehicles, but by how they go about our business.

When the coronavirus pandemic began, VWGoA leveraged its expertise in finance, engineering, and logistics to make a meaningful contribution to those in need. To help customers, VW rolled out the “Community-Driven Promise” program, designed to help customers affected by the crisis who need payment assistance and financial relief. To help their communities, VW dealer employees are using their loaner fleet of Atlas SUVs and other Volkswagen vehicles for initiatives such as delivering supplies to food banks. And to fight the coronavirus, Volkswagen announced a collaborative effort with one of its suppliers to manufacture Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In just one instance, VW donated 80,000 masks and 5,000 hospital gowns to NYC’s Javits Center when the outbreak first occurred.

VWGoA is also a leader in decarbonization and transportation electrification. Here in the Commonwealth and across the US, VWGoA is leveraging billions of dollars of investment to advance the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs). Globally, the Volkswagen Group is committed to the Paris Agreement on climate change, aims for carbon neutrality across operations by 2050, and will be introducing almost 75 new electric models and approximately 60 hybrids by 2029.

VWGoA is proud to be a member of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and to support the Chamber’s work in the community. As they like to say “When we drive something bigger than ourselves, we change the destination.”
