Today's #leadership quote
"You can wake up every day and make today better than the last." Tommy Lasorda
We often spend a great deal of time living in the past and often we beat ourselves up for something that we did or failed to do yesterday or at some point in our past. Most unsuccessful people spend much of their time thinking about the past. While it may at times be useful to learn the lessons that our past has shown us, it is not wise to spend too much time there. Instead we should focus on what we can accomplish today or tomorrow and leave the past behind us. If we look at each new day as an opportunity to accomplish something and focus on incremental improvement we can accomplish more than we dreamed possible in a year. If we continue that over 5 or 10 years we can change our own lives and make a huge impact on our communities and the world. As a leader it is important to study the past and learn the lessons that history teaches but we should minimize the time spent focusing on what we didn't accomplish and view each day as a blank slate just waiting for us to make our mark. Look forward and make the best possible use of your day today as you never know how many of them you may have left.
