Today's #leadership quote
"Everybody makes mistakes, that's why they put erasers on pencils" Tommy Lasorda
Another great quote by Tommy Lasorda who spent 71 of his 93 years working in the Dodger organization. It is inevitable that all of us make mistakes as nobody is perfect. Our mistakes however do not define us instead they provide us with an opportunity to learn and grow. What ultimately does define us is how we react to our mistakes. Some curl up in a ball and bemoan their errors. Some look for a convenient whipping post to blame for their misfortunes. Some refuse to admit they erred and continue to run roughshod ahead hoping to bully the mistake into submission. It is no surprise that none of those approaches move us forward. Failure is a normal step on the path to success. If we are courageous enough to admit our mistake, resilient enough to pick ourselves up off the floor and curious enough to try a new approach we can learn, grow, and ultimately prosper from our missteps. We get to choose whether we will be the victim or the hero. Choose wisely and we can become the great leaders that move the world forward.
A great coach will see what you can become as a leader and help you overcome your mistakes and keep failing forward. To dind out how give me a call at 703 445-3133. You will be glad that you did.
