Today's #leadership quote
"If we magnified blessings as much as we magnify disappointments, we would all be much happier." John Wooden
On Thanksgiving Day it is traditional to show gratitude for what we have been given. Everyone has challenges which we struggle to overcome and often those challenges dominate our thoughts. By fixating on the challenges and what we need rather than what we have already we magnify the challenges and allow those challenges to control our thoughts and our actions. We give them license to create stress and anxiety and to make us victims of circumstance. If instead we practice gratitude and take time each day to appreciate all that we have been given or accomplished we will develop a proactive mindset that affords us mastery over those challenges. We will find the strength and courage to address those obstacles, overcome them and achieve the greatness we were destined for. Being grateful brings joy into our lives, makes others feel appreciated and inspires them to help us tackle whatever comes our way. Everyone can find things to be thankful for and in so doing can change both their perspective and their future. On this day of Thanksgiving lets begin the practice of gratitude. It will pay huge dividends both for us and the others in our lives.
