Today's #leadership quote
“One today is worth two tomorrows.” – Benjamin Franklin
This quote while short gives us two very important pieces of wisdom. It encourages us to live in the present and to avoid procrastination as well. We all get to choose whether we live in the past, the present or the future each day. While we should learn from the past certainly, living in the past will result in missed opportunities and a failure to grow. Likewise if we live in the future we miss out on enjoying what we have today. Ideally we should learn from our experiences, plan for the future and take massive action in the present to make that dream of the future a reality. While most if not all of us wish for more, we will never be fulfilled if we are not grateful for what we already have today. The quote also encourages us not to procrastinate. We all do put off attacking difficult or distasteful challenges hoping that tomorrow will bring more insight or a changed situation. We avoid conflict or moving forward if it requires change. We allow the fears of rejection and failure create limiting beliefs that stymie our growth. This moment is the only one we are guaranteed. Take advantage of it, be grateful for it, and take massive action to create the future that you desire.
All of us stuggle at times to live in the present and create our future. A good coach can help you appreciate waht you have accomplished and equally important help you plan your future and reach your goals.
