Today's #leadership post
Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation... even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.
Leonardo da Vinci
My goal is to be a little bit better each day than the one before. If I can accomplish that at the end of all of my days I will have achieved all that I was meant to achieve and will have wrung everything out of life that was possible. By committing to continuous improvement and lifelong learning each of us can become the best version of ourselves. The key to this growth is curiosity. Curiosity and wonder are a part of our being when we are small but as we age we begin to form opinions that often close our minds and we tend to become more rigid in our beliefs. The rigidity leads to being judgemental and intolerant of the opinions of others. We infer intention rather than seeking to discover it therefore we rush to judgement. If instead we remain openly curious and seek to understand we may discover what we thought we knew is no longer true. One of my favorite quotes from John Wooden is "Its what we learn after we know it all that matters." Remain curious and open to continuous growth and you can become the great leader you were meant to be. You will also find more happiness in the journey.
A great coach can help you grow to become the best version of yourself and enable you to accomplish all that you have only dreamed possible. To find out how, give me a call at 703 445-3133. You will be glad that you did
