Today's #leadership quote
"A good coach will make his players see what they can be rather than what they are." Ara Parseghian
One of the most important responsibilities of a leader is to develop those that are entrusted to them. A leader must be both a coach and a mentor to those that they serve. In that role, the leader is required to assist people in discovering and capitalizing on their strengths and understanding their weaknesses. A leader has the innate ability to look beyond the current circumstances to see what can be. They can envision the future and paint that picture for others inspiring them to reach for it. Leaders don't make followers great that is a fallacy. Instead leaders help their followers unearth the greatness that already resides within them. Leaders don't bend their team members to a prescribed system but rather develop a system that takes advantage of the inherent greatness of the team members. What the leader must be able to do is to help create the mindset and the self confidence within the team to overcome self doubt and limiting beliefs. By doing so the leader unleashes the team members to take advantage of the talent that already resides within them. A leader enables followers to envision what they are capable of being.
