Today's #leadership quote
“The vision of a champion is someone who is bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion, when no one else is watching.” – Anson Dorrance
Recognition is almost always a good thing and most of us strive to be recognized as a person that makes a difference. Not all of us however are willing to put in the consistent blood sweat and tears that are required to achieve the level of success that we desire. The actions that we take when no one is watching us ultimately determine our character and our greatness. Our commitment to becoming what we desire and are capable of requires sacrifice and dedication that others don't see. Steph Curry didn't go out on the court and light it up the first time he touched a basketball. He spends countless hours shooting daily when no one is watching to hone his craft. Roger Bannister didn't break the 4 minute mile barrier just by thinking one day he would run faster. He had prepared for years for that moment. None of us were witness to the many failures that Thomas Edison had on the way to inventing the light bulb All champions or successful people have worked to hone their skills in anonymity. We get to see the finished product but miss the work that made it possible. Massive effort makes success possible
